Sassy: "Hi! I'm here to report the latest news from the Taylor house. Mommy is leaving us today to go to Houston,Texas. She is going to see HER mommy! Mommy says that she will stay in touch by computer and telephone. Hopefully, we can sneak down to the basement and blog! They are having a birthday party for Grandma on Saturday. Isn't she pretty. No grey hair at all and she doesn't even dye it! Her name is Annie Bernice Parker Hales. She goes by Bernice. We just call her Grandma! While we are going to miss Mommy, we are happy that she is going to get to see Grandma. Mommy's two sisters and brother will be there too! Oh boy...that is going to be one LOUD party!!! Mommy will be back in Maryland next Monday.

Wordless Wednesday With Spats

For those of you who don't know, I had an asthma attack on Friday night. Quite suddenly. My asthma medication pump wasn’t working. I don’t remember anything except not being able to breath. I fainted and apparently stopped breathing. Tim gave me CPR. I woke up with him breathing in my mouth. I didn’t even know he could do CPR. Tim kept watch over me all night.

I have very sore ribs from where he did the compressions. But…I am thankful to be breathing. You can be sure that my asthma medication will be in working order from now on.

The good news is that I am alive and slightly kicking! I’m just taking it easy. But as you can below, I am still roving!

Summer: "Hi everyone. Mommy wanted me to let everyone know that she probably won't be able to visit blogs today. She is a little "under the weather" due to a severe asthma attack last night. Maybe later today she will be up to visiting. She sends her love to everyone!"

Sam: "I'm forlorn."

Sam: "It means that I am miserable, desolate, hopeless and deprived."

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A Diagnosis at Last

Spats: "I wanted to update everyone on Mommy's leg problem. She went to see her orthopedic doctor on Friday. He literally threw his hands in the air and said this: "I've never said this to a patient before, but I have no idea what is wrong with you or how to treat you". After hearing this, Mommy was depressed and very upset.

She came home and Friday night consulted with her wonderful doctor in Houston. After hearing her symptoms, he said that this is what she has: Peroneal Nerve Palsy. AT LAST…. A DIAGNOSIS!!! He is called in some medication to treat her. She also needs to consult with a neurologist and have an EMG done. This condition affects most people with diabetes. Mommy has Type 2. It is sometimes called "Diabetic Nerve Pain". Her doctor is Houston is the BEST! Sloane even has his last name as her middle name! He has been Mommy's doctor for 24 years. Mommy has started on the medication, Lyrica. It seems to be helping already.
