TUXIE TUESDAY
- Mommy just talked to ML and Charley. They are doing okay and have plenty of supplies. They STILL don't have electricity. Mommy did a little checking with the power company and they are hopeful that the power will be restored by tomorrow. Let's just pray that happens. The cats are all doing fine. The weather is still cool, for September in Houston. Mommy will let everyone know of any further updates.
- Auntie Retta's family was able to return home last night. Their power was restored. The schools are still closed and expected to stay that way for several weeks. Auntie Retta isn't going to work because the company is closed due to the electricity problem. They have supplies and electricity, so maybe things can return to normal....whatever that is.
- Nana is still in a nursing facility in Navosota, Texas. Her nursing home in Baytown is still without power. She is doing fine. Hopefully, they will be able to return by the weekend.
- Mommy is slowly losing some of the water retention that she developed. At least she doesn't feel like the Taylor CatSSSSS should have her tied to ribbons and float her around the house. (although we think that might be fun!)
Please continue to keep everyone in your prayers!
WORDLESS WEDNESDAY.....NOT
(thank you Zoolatry for the beautiful graphic)- Mommy talked to ML last night. ML and Charley were able to get out and get fresh supplies of food and water. This is very good news. However, it still does not help that they are still without electricity. The cats are all doing fine. Thankfully, the temperatures have been cooler than normal, although are expected to begin to rise by tomorrow. Let's pray that they get their power restored ASAP!
- Mommy is doing a little better. She had a reaction to the steroid used in the her injections (of course) and has managed to "blow up like a Macy's Day Balloon". Since last Thursday, she put on TWENTY POUNDS of water retention. Her doctor started her on a diuretic last night and she has already lost EIGHT POUNDS. Needless to say, Mommy hasn't been very happy about this development and neither has her heart, lungs, and other parts of her body that she deems necessary for life.
I will be back with any late breaking news developments.
Until then, this is Sasquatch Belle Taylor ....signing off!

TUESDAY TALES
My sister (Pryor Pups) is in Jasper, Texas (east Texas) staying with her mother-in-law. She has Emily, my niece with her as well as all three pups. Her husband had to stay behind in Mont Belvieu, the small Texas town where I grew up and Retta has always lived. Mont Belvieu took a beating, but Retta’s house is fine. She just lost her fence. Down the street from her, people lost their whole houses. Chip works for Bayer (as in the aspirin people). He is one of the main supervisors. I know that the Bayer facility came through the storm pretty well. Chip has a generator at their house that was donated by one of their friends, so at least he can sleep in a fairly comfortable environment. Bayer has their own backup system. Retta is missing so much work. She works as a legal secretary in Houston. She actually has my old job. When I left, they asked me if I could replace myself….so I did….with my sis! She has a heck of a commute every day, about 1 hour each way. But, she is working because her youngest daughter, Emily, is a senior and will be starting college soon. Retta is trying to save up enough money to make this process easier on the family. The legal firm isn’t even open. There is so electricity to any of the business buildings thus far. They are not on the priority list, and rightly so. I’m just glad that Retta, Emily and the pups have a safe place to stay.
My Mother is still in a nursing facility in Navasota, Texas. This is near San Antonio. St. James House, her nursing facility in Baytown withstood the hurricane quite well. They are just waiting for the electricity to be restored before they can return. They are on the priority list, so hopefully this will be soon. Mother is doing fine. I check on her every day. I can’t talk to her, but the nurses reassure me that she is quite content and enjoying the change of scenery.
I talked to Marilynn (Grace & Company) on Saturday and know that they are okay and their family is too. I talked to Marilynn on the phone (the phone service is working), but she still doesn’t have electricity. Her family is doing fine. Thankfully, the weather has been somewhat cool, for Texas weather, and they aren’t suffering too badly. Unfortunately, the weather is expected to get much hotter towards the end of the week.

Spats & Sassy agree!
Thank you Forty Paws! These are fantastic!
Oh, and I got my "fan chain" in from Artsy Catsy and Mr. Milky. It is beautiful. I promptly turned it into a wonderful key chain! It is purrfect and exactly what I have been looking for. If you can't use it for a fan pull, you can get creative and use it for something else! I think it would make a beautiful necklace as well!

MANCAT MONDAY
Mommy: "Hmm...well, here is the box, but I don't see Sam!"
What is that strange noise coming from the box?
OH MY GOODNESS, THE BOX HAS GROWN A HEAD.....

SAM...what are you doing under the box? What happened?

Sam: "Well, I was playing with the box and somehow it got turned over on top of me!"
Mommy: "Oh sweetie, were you scared?"
Sam: "Mommy, I am a MANCAT...we don't get scared!"
Mommy: "Well your eyes are sure wide and you look a little upset. Also, you were yelling quite loudly!"
Sam: "Whatever.....I was just singing....I wasn't scared.......dare you to prove it!" SAM I AM.....OUTTA HERE
ANGUS, DUDE....YOU KNEW EXACTLY WHAT I WAS DOING!
Singin' in the Box,

UPDATES........
1. ML, Charley and all the Sherwood kitties are doing fine. They weathered the storm without problems. They don't have any electricity and don't know when it will be restored. But, they are all safe and sound!
2. Mommy's sister, Retta's house was fine except for a few lost shingles and the fence is gone. Unfortunately, some of her neighbors in town were not so lucky. They lost their homes. Retta doesn't have electricity and it could be a while before it is restored.
3. We've heard that Marylynn, Grace, Audace, Ruse and their family are doing fine. They are also without electricity.
4. Nana (Mommy's mother) was evacuated to a nursing facility in Navasota, Texas. She is doing fine and will remain there until power can be restored at the nursing facility in Baytown,Texas, where she resides.
Mommy has talked to many of her friends in Houston and they seem to be doing fine.
The biggest problem appears to be the lack of electricity. Now, in Houston, Texas in the month of September, the temperatures can soar into the 100 degree point easily. Lack of electricity can be a terrible problem. Thankfully, everyone is doing okay, but let's hope that the power company can get the electricity back to people ASAP.
CONTINUED PRAYERS FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THIS
MAJOR CATASTROPHIC HURRICANE WOULD BE
APPRECIATED.

PURRING AND PRAYING FOR OUR FRIENDS
Thank you Zoolatry for this beautiful graphic!
"We will keep everyone in our prayers!"
Latest update on Mommy: "She is doing better. Unfortunately, she managed to fall down the stairs yesterday and landed flat on her back. (no kitties were involved or hurt in this process) Consequently, her injection sites are quite sore. The good news is that these injections have definitely made her right hip and thigh feel much better. We kitties will continue our round-the-clock observation and care of our Mommy."Thursday, September 11, 2008
ON HIATUS ONCE AGAIN
Well, it is once again time for us to go on hiatus. Mommy is having the last round of her injections done today. Don't worry, she will be fine. Especially since she got this beautiful bouquet of her favorite flowers from her favorite sweet Asta:
AND....I got this beatiful graphic from Maggy, Zoey & Ann at Zoolatry:
