SUMMER THYME'S SATURDAY SUMMARY

"Hi everyone! I just thought I would bring you up to date on the Taylor household. Mommy is doing really well. She had the first of her three "rounds" of shots on Thursday. She has been being very good and lying in bed on her back as per her doctor's instructions. The procedure went great. The anesthesiologist got her iv in on the first try...which NEVER happens since Mommy has TERRIBLE veins. The nurses weren't even going to try. Mommy is really hard to "put under". Novocaine at the dentist office doesn't even work on her. This anesthesiologist gave her a couple of different medications and she woke up afterward with no problems. The injections went very well. On Friday morning, she woke up and thought to herself: "Why do I fee different?" Well, it was because she wasn't in pain for the first time in months. YIPPEE! The only pain she was experiencing was pain at the injection site and slight pain in her right hip. Today, she is allowed to get out of bed and walk around a bit. She had promised not to overdo things. But, don't worry, all the Taylor CatSSSSS are watching her!

The Big Guy and Tatum are leaving this morning to drive Tatum back to Randolph Macon's Women's College in Lynchburg, Virginia. She will be starting her Senior year. The Big Guy won't be home until Sunday evening. Mommy has promised to be good while he is gone. She is feeling so much better that she doesn't want to jinx anything! Her next round of shots is scheduled for next Thursday around 11:30 a.m. After that, she will have one more round the next week. Mommy wants to thank everyone for their purrs, prayers, head butts and everything else. She probably won't be visiting blogs until Sunday.

Well, it is my rest time before I take my turn watching Mommy. I just wanted to update all our wonderful friends. All the TaylorSSSSS send their love and thanks for keeping our Mommy in your prayers!"

Thank you for the update Summer. I am very pleased that Auntie Deb is pain free still. I trust you will stop her from moving about and ensure she stays flat as a pancake on her back. The best places to sit on her to ensure she cannot move are:-

1) The chest
2) The shins*

* 2)may also need a cushion to ensure the comfort of the feline nurse

That's when you know you've been hurting for a while -- when you have to stop and think why you feel so strange when the hurting stops.

Everyone keep your mummy in bed as much as possible. The last thing you want is for her to hurt herself because she finally isn't hurting as much.

Keep that mum of your under control. Back problems are terrible and we want hers to be gone.

Hooray for no pain! Mom has a dear friend who's had hundred of surgeries in her life and needs a special Anesthesiologist, and special meds, too. She finally had to have a surgery to put in a morphine drip permanently to manage her pain, so Mom can really appreciate what your Mommy has been going through.
