UPDATE: We just got home from the cardiologist. Spats does have a slight heart murmur and her heart muscle is a "little" thick, but right now, she doesn't need medication. She will have to be rechecked in about nine months.

Spats is having an ultrasound done because the vet heard a heart murmur, just like Sassy. They are twins. Sassy has Feline Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and the vet is concerned that Spats might have it too.

Sending you purrs. If you end up having to take pills, make sure your Mommy gives you treats. I have HCM and the pills are not so bad with the treats. Purrrrrrrr

Good luck Spats! We are purraying your results come back ok.
Mom worried about that with us too because of the boy's heart. Nimbus was diagnosed with the same thing when he got blocked up in '07. But so far the vet hasn't heard anything out of either of us - or even better, the boy. The disease CAN be reversed if caught early. Don't get your hopes up too high but don't lose hope either, it CAN be done!

Spats, I am glad to hear the good news about your heart report! No medicines is a good thing!
So glad to hear about Spats good report. Now we need to get Momma Summer checked and make sure she is okay.

Spat, Glad to hear that your heart murmur has not developed into HCM. We are glad that you don't have to have another check up for nine months.
Spats we are glad that your murmur is minor right now - we hope it stays that way so you don't need to go on medicine. We are still sending over lots of purrs and prayers for all you over there!!
