TORTIE TUESDAY

Spats: "I wanted to let you know that we will not be visiting for a few days. Mommy is having a procedure done to her back. She is having "Radio-Frequency Ablation" done today. Here is what it is:"
Pain Management
Radio-Frequency Ablation (RFA) is sometimes used to treat severe chronic pain in the lower back, where radio frequency waves are used to produce heat on specifically identified nerves surrounding the facet joints on either side of the
lumbar spine. By generating heat around the nerve, its ability to transmit pain signals to the brain is destroyed, thus ablating the nerve. The nerves to be ablated are identified through injections of local anesthesia (such as lidocaine) prior to the RFA procedure. If the local anesthesia injections provide temporary pain relief, then RFA is performed on the nerve(s) that responded well to the injections. RFA is a minimally invasive procedure which can usually be done in day-surgery clinics, where the patient is sent home shortly after completion of the procedure. The patient is awake during the procedure, so risks associated with general anesthesia are avoided. The major drawback for this procedure is that nerves regenerate over time, so the pain relief achieved lasts for only a short duration (6–24 months)in most patients.

While Mommy is recuperating from this procedure, the auction for Chrystal will be going on, so please visit:

WISHING EVERYONE A WONDERFUL DAY!

Weezis purrin' for your Momma that her pain goes away for forever, but if not, at least for 24 months... We were wondering if cat therapy is not better than RFA... We were thinking MPA (Mega-purr Ablation)...what if you guys all just piled on and around her and purred really, really hard...maybe that would work even better than the RFA since purrs are also on a sort of frequency...hm?? We all know the power of purrs. Well, either way, we are purring for your Momma and for your guys, too!! We love your cheerful Christmas header!!! Lautrec and Tiny
